3. How We Share Your Information

3.1 With Domain Owners

When you submit feedback to a domain:

  • The domain owner can see your feedback content, category, and timestamp
  • If you provide an email address, the domain owner can see it
  • If you attach images, the domain owner can view them

3.2 With Third-Party Integrations

When a domain owner connects integrations, feedback is automatically sent to:

  • Slack: Feedback is posted to the configured Slack channel via webhook
  • Discord: Feedback is posted to the configured Discord channel via webhook
  • Notion: Feedback is added as a new entry in the configured Notion database
  • Obsidian: Feedback is saved as a markdown file in the local vault (local-only)

These integrations are controlled by domain owners. We are not responsible for how third-party services store or process data. Please review the privacy policies of these services:

  • Slack Privacy Policy
  • Discord Privacy Policy
  • Notion Privacy Policy

3.3 With Other Community Members

Feedback submitted to a domain is visible to:

  • Other users viewing the same domain through the Chrome extension
  • Anyone with access to the domain's integrations (Slack channels, Discord channels, Notion databases)

Do not submit confidential or sensitive information through Opinsio.

3.4 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, such as:

  • To comply with legal process (subpoenas, court orders)
  • To protect our rights and property
  • To prevent fraud or illegal activity
  • To protect the safety of users or the public

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Where We Store Data

  • Database: PostgreSQL hosted on secure cloud servers
  • Authentication: Google OAuth tokens (stored encrypted)
  • Images: Stored securely with access restricted to domain owners and submitters

4.2 Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security practices:

  • Encryption in Transit: All data is transmitted over HTTPS
  • Encryption at Rest: Sensitive data (API keys, access tokens) is encrypted in the database
  • Access Controls: Database access is restricted to authorized personnel
  • Regular Updates: We keep software dependencies up to date

However, no system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

Note: Feedback you submitted may remain visible to domain owners even after account deletion, as it becomes part of the domain's feedback record.

5.3 Opt-Out of Integrations

Domain owners can disable integrations at any time through Owner Settings. Once disabled, new feedback will not be sent to that integration.

5.4 Data Portability

You can request an export of your feedback data by contacting us. We will provide your data in a structured, machine-readable format (JSON).
